I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty in everything I see. For the first time in my life I left my city, the place where I’ve been living for almost 20 years to go for a few months to the States. When I came back, I started to appreciate all those things that I took for granted. The buildings, the street, the bridges and waterfalls, everything seems more beautiful than it used to. Even now when I’m writing this, I’m looking to a beautiful old house, probably from 1800, never noticed it this way, but now I could spend hours looking at those houses and contemplating their beauties and unique characters.
You know the saying you never know what you got till it’s gone? Well yes, now I know how it feels not to have all this around and I can appreciate it so much+ more.
Maybe it is necessary in life, not to lose, but to let go on things every once in a while. This in order to appreciate it all much more and be able to see it all in another perspective. I’ve had that with different things in life. With my college degrees, I used to think it wasn’t that important until I encounter many circumstances where I needed it and then realized that it is important. It is the case with people as well. I used to take my father and family for granted until I’ve spent some time far from them and realized how life must be without having them around and now I’m more grateful for each time we spent together.
Maybe it’s the same with relationships, you have to let it go sometimes, for a little while in order to catch your breath and take a new look at it and then see if that’s really what you want, if you really did miss it and realize that it is important. If that’s the case, well than you know that you should work on it and make I last, if that’s not the case, well than you know that you have to let it go and find something that does catch your breath and that you couldn’t live without.
We learn the best from our own experiences.
