Can a creation exist without a creator?
by Tales of 2Timothy1.7
Recently I was talking to a friend of mine. For some reason I found myself asking him in the middle of the conversation if he believed in G-d. To my surprise he said, he had thought about it lately – had seen a documentary about it- and is unsure but he believes in the evolution theory. I was surprised of his answer. I have always assumed he was a man of faith and so didn’t know what to bring up to that. All I could say was that I believed in G-d, The Creator of all things.
In the past I would have found arguments to debate with someone and try to convince them that The Creator indeed does exist. But now I found a place of rest and realise that the presence of The Creator is in everything and everywhere and I wish that I could share this truth with others.
A few days ago I was thinking about the great things that have been made by men. Men have created so many amazing things, let’s take a computer for example. It is a wonderful all encompassing -man made-creation. Could you imagine giving a computer to someone who had never had a computer before and you tell him, well this was made by this company and each item on that computer was thought of and created by someone but the person you are giving the computer to looks at you funny and says no, I don’t believe that the computer was made by a manufacturer. It just came with a ‘bang’ and there it was. Up on this, you try to reason that person and tell them, that they can’t possibly assume that a computer was made by a ‘bang’. Someone thought of each and every element, the fact that there is light that comes on when you open it, the fact that you can write a word in it, the fact that colours can appear, the fact that messages can be sent to someone out there in an other country, all that was thought of by someone. Nothing happened just by chance. But the that man you are giving the computer to stick to his opinion and says nope, this was all coincidence, no one thought of all the options in a computer, all of it just happened by itself.
There you try one more time and tell him, this was truly made by a manufacturer and if there is a defect on it, well they can bring it to the manufacturer to fix it. The manufacturer will be able to solve every problem relating to that product because they were the ones that build it.
But this man still stick to his ideas and concludes that if something is not functioning on that computer, well that’s just too bad, there is nothing you can do about it because it just came by chance and so there is no fixing it.
But the man who gave the computer laughs and says well, if that is how you want to see it, that is your opinion but just remember that I told you that this computer was created by a manufacturer and that person knows every little thing that is in that computer; he knows the capacity of that computer, what it can handle and how to fix it if anything would happen to it because he is the creator and that computer is his creation.
Ever since I yield myself back to faith and started to read and study His word, my eyes opened in so many ways. Now I understand that we are mere creatures living in the creation that He has created for us. If anything is out of our understanding He has it all written down in the handbook, Torah and Bible. If there are parts that we do not understand well it’s up to us to call up on Him. You see it is His Creation, when you call up on Him He will answer. In life when something breaks without reason we would bring it back to where we got it from and ask for understanding well, if our world is breaking at this point, maybe it’s because The Creator wants us to turn back to Him. The scriptures says it clearly in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”.
He is the same yesterday, today and will be tomorrow. So what He did in the past, in the scriptures, He can do it again today if we would only humble ourselves in prayers and not try to fix this world with our own understanding but truly trust that there is a Creator who knows more about His creation and follow His guidance then we will have the guarantee that He promises in Romans 10 9-12.
